Hawk visitor

A young hawk visited our deck yesterday.  Hawks in the neighborhood usually means there there will be no birds for awhile.

Water, water everywhere

Water problems stuck the homestead from top to bottom.  The ceiling in one of the bedrooms was showing water damage after the last rain storm.  Our contractor checked out the roof and found one corner was in bad shape. He spent all day rebuilding that part of the roof. Then two days in a row we had major plumbings problem resulting in water damage to the basement ceiling and a general mess in the up and downstairs bathrooms.  Rotor-Rooter spent a hour and a half fixing the problem.

Now it is time to relax until the bills come.

First day of Spring???

Mother Nature greeted the first day of Spring with SNOW!!!  A temporary setback to the golf season but it should all be gone by next week.  It was warm enough so the snow melted on the sidewalks and streets. If we could have that happen all winter I could get rid of the snowblower.

Mom and I began our Saturday with a nice refreshing walk to the Village Inn for breakfast.

Cubs open in Atlanta April 5th.  This could be the year.

The snow is gone from the court!!!

Finally, the snow is gone and we can once again see the grass. We have had snow cover ever since the first snowfall of the winter. With warmer temps expected and maybe some sunshine, golf season may still be able to start by St. Paddy's Day.  And don't any of my boys tell me my grass needs cutting.

Mom and I received a nice flower arrangement from the Dolans on our birthday.  The flowers are still gracing the kitchen table.

They are bringing a little touch of spring to some dark, rainy days.

Birthday Celebration on the court

Today Mom and I are celebrating 142 years on this earth.  We are also celebrating the slow melt of snow, so Mom posed on the deck with our birthday bouquet.

I received a surprise gift of an album from Tracy with photos of  my family, past and present. It was great fun remembering where and when they were taken. Check it out on your next visit.
Mom's friends remember me on our birthday by writing a greeting on the back of  the card envelope.

Thanks to all who have wished us greetings on our special day.
