Christmas comes to the court

Mom and Dad went Christmas shopping Friday.  After 17 years of faithful service it came time to retire the Escort.  The straw that broke the camel's back was when the heater stopped working.

So, even though the ash trays were not full we decided to trade it in on a 2011 Toyota Camry.

HO HO HO

I guess that means we're good until Dad hits 93 years old.

First snow of the season

The first snowfall of the season hit today.  Not much accumulation but it sure is screwing with the leaf cleanup.  I am trying to get the backyard ready for some hard hitting football action on Thanksgiving.

Here are a few photos the past week in our old stomping grounds.

The morning at the office started off with a warm and sunny day.  By the twelfth hole the sky was black and by the time we got back to our cars the rains came down.  Before the weather turned bad I did get a couple of photos from my office window. That's my buddy Roger on the tee.

New lawnmower

Because of a threat of rain I decided the safer way to cut the grass was in my car.  Judie thinks the grandkids would enjoy seeing Grandpa driving in the backyard.

The backstory is I torn down the compost enclosure and was loading up the material for a dump run.

High water on the Mississippi

The Mississippi River stage this morning is 22.7 feet and cresting.
